Diagnostics

How can you tell if your pet is sick or injured? Unfortunately, our animal companions cannot speak to tell us what’s wrong or show us where it hurts. What’s more, when an illness or injury cannot be easily detected on the surface of the body, it can be challenging to recognize the signs of a problem and determine exactly what that problem might be. In these instances, we need tools that will allow us to look beyond the surface and learn what’s happening inside your pet’s body. That’s where veterinary diagnostics come into play. Perimeter Veterinary Care utilizes a wide variety of diagnostic tools to help us manage the ongoing health of our patients.

When an external physical exam just isn’t enough to reach a definitive diagnosis, or the outward signs of illness or injury are not clear enough to provide the answers we need, our experienced doctors turn to technology and diagnostic tools to help us get to the bottom of the problem. These tools include routine tests, like blood work and urinalysis, as well as more advanced techniques, such as x-ray imaging. When we can examine your pet from the inside, we are much better able to diagnose and address the underlying problem in the most effective and efficient manner possible.

Perimeter Veterinary Center is also equipped with a convenient in-house laboratory. This allows us to run a wide variety of tests right within our clinic and obtain the results quickly. With many medical conditions, time is of the essence and a speedy diagnosis is critical. Having our own diagnostic laboratory helps us to get the answers we need as quickly and accurately as possible, greatly improving the chances of a positive outcome.

If your pet has been acting a bit under the weather, or you suspect he or she may have suffered some type of injury, give us a call to schedule a comprehensive diagnostic analysis. The sooner we can determine what’s ailing your animal companion, the sooner we can get them back on the path to good health again.
